eBooks Side Hustle Income Report – March 2026

Month four, and I’ll be straight with you, March was another slow one.

Work has been relentless lately and publishing took a back seat again. I only managed to add 10 books this month, which is basically my floor at this point. Life is busy, the day job is demanding, and some months that’s just the reality of building something on the side. I’m not going to dress it up and pretend I was firing on all cylinders, because I wasn’t.

And yet, the income jumped $65.49.

Total revenue for March came in at $151.45, which is the biggest single month gain I’ve had since starting this back in December. Let that sink in for a second. My least productive publishing month produced my best earnings month. I added the fewest books, put in the least effort, and made the most money so far. That’s not a coincidence, that’s compounding.

The catalog is now sitting at over 80 books across the platform, and that volume is starting to do real work on its own. December’s books are still selling. January’s books are still selling. Every title I’ve added over these four months is out there quietly doing its job while I’m at work, while I’m with my family, while I’m sleeping. That’s exactly what I signed up for when I started this whole thing.

I’ll say again what I mentioned last month about publishing pace, one book a day feels like the right rhythm for where I’m at. Could I push harder with better systems and more planning? Yes. But I keep coming back to building this sustainably. I’ve burned out on side hustles before by going too hard too fast, and I’m not doing that here. Ten books a month with a growing catalog that earns without me is a better long game than 40 books a month followed by three months of nothing.

Four months in. The streak is intact. The income is climbing. And for the first time, I’m genuinely starting to see what this looks like when the catalog gets big enough to really move.

We’re not there yet. But March gave me a pretty clear preview.
