eBooks Side Hustle Income Report – February 2026

Month three, and the streak is alive.

February is the shortest month of the year, only 28 days, and honestly it felt even shorter than that. Work got busy, life got in the way, and I didn’t get anywhere near the publishing pace I wanted. I only added 11 books this month, which is a far cry from the 30 I was previously hitting in December and January and less that the 15 I want to hit. If you’re following along, you already know I have been pushing toward that 10 books per week ceiling that KDP allows. February was a reminder that real life doesn’t always cooperate with your publishing schedule.

But here’s the thing. The income went up anyway.

Revenue came in at $85.96 this month, which is another $29.79 on top of January. Slower output, more money. That’s the passive income model doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. The catalog I built in the previous two months kept working while I was heads down with other things, and I barely had to touch it.

There’s something worth noting about the publishing pace too. While KDP does allow up to 10 books per week, I’ve started thinking more carefully about how aggressively I want to push that limit. My personal take right now is to stay maxing at roughly one book per day as a comfortable ceiling. Could someone with better planning and more time hit 10 a week consistently? Probably yes. But I’d rather build this at a pace that’s sustainable and stays under the radar than sprint and burn out or draw the wrong kind of attention to a brand new account.

I decided on eBook Writer AI from numerous friends and publishers input as my base AI platform to help kickstart my business, purchased the unlimited tier to be able to create as many books as I could.

Slow and steady is a weird thing to say about publishing 11 books in a month, but here we are.

What February proved to me is that the foundation built in those first two months has real staying power. I wasn’t creating much, but the revenue didn’t drop. It grew. Every book added to the catalog is another small asset doing quiet work in the background, and the more of them there are, the more that compounds over time.

Three months in, the catalog is growing, the income is trending up, and I’m still figuring things out as I go. That part hasn’t changed. But the results are starting to speak for themselves.
